Diamond Hill Mine – weather permitting. If there is inclement weather we will have a game day (dominos) in the social hall at Hallmark Baptist Church.

When:  Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 9:30 am. Meet at Hallmark Baptist Church (211 Bridges Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681) to caravan down. If you wish to drive alone please meet at Diamond Hill Mine at 11 am. The address is 50-99 Diamond Mine Road, Abbeville SC.

What: Diamond Hill Mine, bagged lunch provided. The church will pay the fee for those who choose to participate in “the dig”. Please notify event leaders regarding lunch preferences. Sandwich choices are peanut butter and jelly, just peanut butter, or ham and cheese.

Where: Diamond Hill Mine 50-99 Diamond Mine Road, Abbeville, SC (please see additional information in the when section above)

Who: 7 Years to High School (parents/grandparents welcome), under 7 must be accompanied.

Need to bring:

Boots or shoes you do not mind getting dirty. No open toe shoes or barefeet. Please refer to the Diamond Hill Mine website to view all information/recommendations

1.Gloves, a thin yet durable pair. A great type are thin garden type with rubber or poly palms.
2.Tools you might use; A long screwdriver is a must. shovel, rake, rock hammer, sledge hammer, pick.
3.Boxes or flats to carry and store your finds in until you get home.
4.Newspaper or similar for stuffing/packing in case of some better finds so they don’t get damaged.
5.Drinks, food, snacks
6.Sunscreen , first aid kit for scrapes that might occur!
7.A big smile! If you don’t have one, you will soon after finding your crystal treasures!

These are all optional tips, I would highly suggest at least bringing a pair of gloves although they are not required. Only shirt and shoes are required as well as no open toe shoes or barefoot digging!
